The Aggregate Gradation Assistant will safely and accurately ensure aggregate materials meet applicable specifications and customer requirements by preparing, testing and documenting aggregate samples. 

Duties:

Prepare aggregate samples for testing according to established procedures.

Assist with aggregate gradation testing, including sieve analysis and related quality-control testing.

Accurately record test results, sample information, production data, and other required documentation.

Assist Quality Control personnel with routine testing and quality inspections.

Monitor aggregate materials for consistency and report potential quality concerns to appropriate personnel.

Maintain organized sample areas, testing equipment, and workspaces.

Clean and maintain laboratory and testing equipment as needed.

Follow established testing procedures, company policies, and applicable industry specifications.

• Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and quarry site safety procedures.
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and MSHA and company safety programs.
• Communicate testing results and quality concerns timely.

Assist with troubleshooting material or testing issues when requested.

Operate vehicles, equipment, and tools as trained and authorized.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:  Must have ability to lift at least 50 pounds, some work possible at heights of at least 30 feet and must have ability to stand for long periods of time.  Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.  Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reaching, twisting and work on uneven surfaces.  Position will be around 20 hours per week at the Duenow quarry in St. Ansgar, IA.  Hours will be during high volume season usually around April 1st to December 1^st, weather permitting.

Working Conditions:  Work areas are exposed to all elements of weather, loud noise, dusty conditions and uneven ground. Work in indoor testing/laboratory areas.  Also, exposure to chemicals and heavy moving machinery.
